On November 7, 2019, Caroline County Public School’s Parent Teacher Resource Center hosted a “Full Life Ahead” Transition workshop.  Susan Gayle, PTRC Special Education Coordinator, and Melissa White, Special Education Transition Coordinator, welcomed thirty educators, parents, grandparents, and students with a two-hour workshop.  This workshop provided the attendees with a framework for success as they transition from middle school to high school or from high school to adult life.

The CCPS Special Education Department and Virginia Department of Education supplied participants with a workbook and guide to assist with transition goals and expectations.  This workshop is funded through a grant Caroline County’s Parent Teacher Resource Center secured in 2018.  The resources purchased have enabled the PTRC to offer this workshop 1-2 times each school year.

The “Full Life Ahead” workshop aligns with the CCPS Strategic Plan Pathways 2020 as we prepare students to be successfully employed, enlisted or enrolled.
